Oliver H Kelley Farm One of the Minnesota Historical Society's National Historic Landmark sites. |
Membership Information Who are the Friends of the Kelley Farm? The Friends of the Kelley Farm formed in response to planned closure of the Oliver Kelley Farm in May of 2003. Our efforts have kept the educational programs and hands-on agricultural activities available to community through ongoing fundraising and increasing community awareness. With renewed funding, the focus of the Friends group has turned toward activities to enhance the Farm program and look toward the future of the Farm. We want to ensure that MHS and the state legislature remember how much we care for this valuable resource and continue to ensure its viability into the future. We are anticipating many excellent opportunities over the next few years to make the Kelley Farm an even more interesting and fulfilling visit by the families, civic and school groups of the region. The Friends of the Kelley Farm have over 80 members stretching across 13 states. Our members range from active grandparents eager to share memories of their own farming days, community leaders passionate about history, school teachers used to bringing students on field trips, to 12-year-olds with happy recollections of a day on the farm. We welcome all of you to join us. Membership Benefits

Former membership page (written by an amateur... ;) This page is essentially blank (ignore the ramblings below), but not for long! On this page we'll describe the incredibly generous benefits that you'll receive as a member of the Friends of the Kelley Farm. But, then again, the point is to raise money to keep the Farm operating, so don't expect TOO much! We'll also provide information on how to join. The annual memberships cost only $24 per person and cover the current calendar year. As soon as we have the right stuff set up, you'll be able to sign up and pay for your membership right here on-line! Please note, we do not limit donations by members to just the cost of membership. Oh no, you may feel free to donate as much as you can above and beyond the membership fee. Those oxen may eat some grass, but the rest costs money! And, although the staff love all the school children who visit (and it's in the thousands each year!), they also love their own children, so we like to be able to pay them for the superb talents they bring to work every day. So, until we get this page fully functioning, if you want to join the Friends of the Kelley Farm, just stop by the Farm and ask. I think you'll be surprised at how easy they'll make it for you to feel like a FRIEND! Oh, and for those of you who are out of town or just too busy to stop by the Farm in the next couple of days, we can arrange membership by postal mail also! Just send us your name, address, e-mail address, phone number and a valid check or money order and we'll be happy to call you a FRIEND! Send your request to: Oliver Kelley Farm You can make the check out to Oliver Kelley Farm. Matter of fact, make out lots of checks like that! |
